Deal strengthens firm’s ambition to become the UK’s go-to legal partner for owner-managed businesses

West Midlands law firm Higgs LLP has acquired family-owned McKenzie Law Solicitors in Shrewsbury.

This follows its purchase of Vialex Limited and Navigator Employment Law Limited in February.

The deal brings the niche firm of husband-and-wife team Niels and Vicki McKenzie under the Higgs LLP name, giving the combined practice three locations across the UK, including its existing offices in Brierley Hill and Edinburgh.

Shared values drive the deal

Higgs chief executive Nick Taylor said: “Acquiring McKenzie Law makes complete strategic sense for us.

“We are aligned on all our values and support our clients in the same way.

“Niels and Vicki have built a formidable reputation in Shrewsbury, and we are thrilled to be working with them.”

For the McKenzies, the move marks the next chapter for a firm they have built over nearly two decades.

Clients of both firms will retain access to their existing teams while gaining the benefit of a broader range of legal services and UK-wide locations.
