“Free Palestine!” Yes, Israel is working on it – again
“Free Palestine!”
That’s the slogan chanted by so many “liberal progressive” people right now across so many Western cities. Young and old, Muslim and non-Muslim, they march, they chant, they post on social media, they even get arrested.
‘Gays for Gaza’
There are even some gay people (“Gays for Gaza,” “Queers for Palestine”) who, in woke delusion, don their keffiyahs and join the herd – clueless they’re supporting Islamist terrorists who routinely murder gays while opposing the Middle East’s only liberal democracy, Israel, where it’s fine to be gay, or Muslim or Christian or whatever it is you are.
“Free Palestine,” they chant. But what none of them seem to know is Israel did exactly that in 2005 when it forcibly removed all Jewish people from the Gaza Strip leaving a free Palestine for the Palestinian people.
Free Palestinians voted for Hamas
In January 2006 the free Palestinians of Gaza exercised their freedom by voting in Hamas, the terror group whose stated aim is the eradication of Israel and all Jews, and it’s been going badly ever since.
Over the past two decades Hamas has used billions of incoming aid, from all quarters including Israel, to build missiles to fire at Israel. It has also built a network of subterranean tunnels, said to be bigger than the London Underground, from which to run its evil activities and protect its operatives.

Trump and Netanyahu stand alone
Just like the legions of on-trend “Free Palestine” chanters, Western leaders – with the exception of US president Donald Trump and, of course, Benjamin Netanyahu – have fallen for pro-Hamas, anti-Israel propaganda, which inverts reality to frame Israel as intent on “genocide” (note: if Israel was conducting a genocide then why, after nearly two years of conflict, is 98% of Gaza’s population still alive?).
British PM Keir Starmer has been swept along. To the fury of Netanyahu, he foolishly declared his government would formally recognise the state of Palestine unless Israel ceased fire and withdrew from the Strip – awarding Hamas “a prize for terror.” I’d like to think Starmer is already ruing his naivety.
Biggest slaughter of Jews since the Holocaust
Let’s just recap on some facts: on October 7th 2023, Hamas savages crossed the northern border to effect the biggest slaughter of Jews since the Holocaust, raping women, murdering children and taking captive 250 hostages, 50 of whom (around 20 still alive) it is still holding in its underground dungeons. It promised to do the same again, and again, and again, if given the chance. Minded not to give Hamas that chance, Israel responded, and continues to respond, managing to minimise civilian deaths despite Hamas using Gazans as human shields in the hope of provoking outrage against Israel. A cynical PR tactic that is working as liberal progressives spread Hamas talking points as objective truth.
Repeating a lie doesn’t make it true
Make no mistake. The suffering in Gaza is heartbreaking. Everyone wills and prays for it to end. But let’s be clear. This suffering is the fault of Hamas, not Israel, in spite of the current lazy trend to blame Israel. To be clear, repeating the lie that it is Israel’s fault doesn’t make that lie true. The reality is, unless and until Hamas is completely erased, the suffering of Gazans will continue.
Rather than parroting the lies of Hamas, Western leaders like Starmer and Macron et al should do their jobs and lead. But alas, they lack the courage. In Starmer’s case, his position is driven by the panicked fear he’s losing Britain’s Muslim vote to Jeremy Corbyn (whose CV is a hot mess of antisemitism and sympathy for terrorists Hamas and Hezbollah, whom he referred to publicly in 2009 as “our friends).

Netanyahu’s plan to occupy Gaza make sense
Meanwhile Netanyahu still has a serious problem to sort out, and he has set out his plan: he intends to fully occupy the Gaza Strip.
Netanyahu’s plan makes sense for Gaza as well as for Israel.
Since 2005 the “Free Palestine” project has demonstrably failed.
Talk of a two-state solution is for the birds: you can’t have one of the two states run by terrorists.
Israel must delete Hamas – it’s Gaza’s only hope
So, with these other routes exhausted, Netanyahu’s plan is the only feasible option. Instead of moaning about it, his allies, including Starmer, should be backing him. But sixth-form common room peer pressure can be strong. Liberal progressives don’t like to face reality, choosing instead to invert it and shriek loud. Don’t expect this to change.
Back in the real world, the IDF must finish what it started. Occupy Gaza, retrieve Israel’s citizens, delete Hamas, destroy its tunnels and set up for the 2.1m Gazan people a functioning, lawful territory in which they can live and prosper.
Crucially, per Netanyahu’s plan, which has been approved by his cabinet, security on the Strip will be Israel’s remit. Correct. Correct not just for Israel’s peace of mind but also for the people of Gaza.
And, in the fullness of time, an administration for the territory will be set in place – but it won’t be Hamas, as Hamas soon won’t exist anyway, and it won’t be the PA (Palestinian Authority). Also correct.
An Israel-run Gaza is the ‘Free Palestine’ people demand
This new Gaza will be the “Free Palestine” people chant for. It will be a territory not dissimilar to the one next door – the vibrant democracy flowing with milk and honey that is Israel. Right now, however hard it may be for his opponents to accept, Netanyahu’s Israel is the only real-world hope of a free Palestine.
