The new Care UK facility on Weddington Road will create 96 jobs and offer places for up to 75 residents

Construction has begun on a new multi-million-pound care home in Nuneaton, with the facility set to include a cinema, café and hair salon when it opens in winter 2027.

The Care UK home on Weddington Road will provide residential, dementia, nursing and respite care for up to 75 older people and will create 96 jobs in the area. It will be the company’s fifth care home in Warwickshire.

Janine Eckelt, development project manager for Care UK, said: “At Care UK we take great pride in the build quality of each home, carefully considering design and layout in order to improve the everyday experiences of those living in a care environment.

“This thoughtfully planned new home will provide a high-quality home for older people in Nuneaton and surrounding areas.”

Outdoor spaces and community suites

As well as indoor leisure facilities, the home will feature secure, wheelchair-friendly landscaped gardens with sensory planting, water features and seating areas.

The building will be arranged into individual suites, each with its own lounge and dining room to foster a close-knit community feel.

Liam Aistrop, project director at Liberty Care Developments, said: “Construction is off to a great start and we’re on track to complete the work by winter 2027. We’re already looking forward to reaching our next milestone in the coming months.”
