Barcelona-inspired bar and restaurant marks brand’s first venture into the West Midlands

Baresca Tapas is set to open a new bar and restaurant in Mere Green, Sutton Coldfield, in July, bringing its Barcelona-inspired dining concept to the West Midlands for the first time.

The opening will mark the brand’s third site, joining Escabeche in West Bridgford and Baresca Nottingham, which celebrates its tenth anniversary this year.

The brand has spent more than 15 years championing a relaxed style built around shared plates, quality drinks and warm hospitality, inspired by Barcelona.

The new restaurant will take over the former 4,700 sq ft Pierre Bistro unit on Mere Green Road, offering 150 covers inside and a further 40 on its outdoor terrace.

A new chapter for the brand

Jon Perkins, managing director of Perkins Family Group, said: “Mere Green feels like the perfect place to write the next chapter of the Baresca story. It has a fantastic sense of community and an independent spirit that aligns with what we’re all about, and we’re excited to become part of it.”

Guests can expect the dishes that have made Baresca a favourite for over a decade, including authentic tapas and its signature rotisserie chicken, brined and marinated for 24 hours, then slow-roasted on the spit. T

he drinks list features cocktails, sangria, vermouth and Spanish wines, with weekly Barcelona Beats vinyl DJ sessions every Friday evening.

Baresca Tapas opens on Wednesday July 22 for lunch and dinner, with breakfast served at weekends.
