West Midlands lender pledges support for stroke survivors
BCRS Business Loans has announced Dudley Stroke Association as its Charity of the Year for 2026/27.
It launched a year-long fundraising programme to support the organisation’s work with stroke survivors and their families across the borough.
The partnership will see the BCRS team take part in a range of sponsored challenges and charity events throughout the year.
A highlight will be a Charity Ball on Friday 16 October at Grand Station in Wolverhampton, running from 7pm until midnight.
Guests will enjoy a three-course meal, live entertainment and fundraising activities in aid of the association.
BCRS Business Loans chief executive Stephen Deakin said: “Dudley Stroke Association does invaluable work supporting stroke survivors and their families across the borough.
“Through our fundraising activities and Charity Ball, we hope to help them continue their vital work and make a real difference to the lives of those affected by stroke.”
Supporting survivors and their families
Dudley Stroke Association provides networking groups, wellbeing walks, online groups, lunch clubs and exercise sessions for stroke survivors, their families and carers. Its vision is a borough where survivors are supported to live fulfilled and independent lives.
Acting fast saves lives
Stroke awareness and prevention co-ordinator Louise Brookes said: “BCRS support means so much to our organisation and to the individuals and communities we serve. Our message is Act BEFAST, because every second counts.”
BCRS raised more than £5,000 for its previous charity partner, Kids’ Village. Tickets for the Charity Ball are available at bcrs.org.uk.
